Our Tour
At 8:00 a.m., we begin our beautiful walk through the streets of San Cristóbal to see the local architecture, the Cerrillo neighborhood, the local market, also known as the Mercado de Colores (Color Market). We visit the Santo Domingo Church, unique in all of Mexico for its beautiful stucco façade. We see the cathedral and the Arco del Carmen (Arch of Carmen). We visit a workshop to learn about Chiapas amber. We continue to the community of San Juan Chamula, where we will learn about the traditions and rituals performed by the local inhabitants in the church, guided by a Hilol (healer), and their worldview and religious syncretism. We then continue to the town of Zinacantán, the land of bats, where we will visit a family home to admire the daily work of artisan women with the backstrap loom. We will taste the local traditional drink and visit the church and the chapel of the authorities. We return to San Cristóbal at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Please reserve your tour the day in advance; we depart every day.
For shared tour services, you must be ready in the hotel lobby with breakfast. Expect a 10-30 minute wait, as passengers will be picked up from other hotels. Please bring clothing appropriate for the region's climate, comfortable shoes, a cap or hat for sun protection, and a small backpack for water or food. Minors pay the full fare, excluding admission to some sites.
We do not issue refunds for prepaid and reserved services, as transportation and guide reservations are made.
