Our Tour

CUSTOMIZED TRIPS: This tour showcases the country's most important cultural highlights. You have the option to remove days and tailor it to your schedule. You can also book flights if you prefer not to travel by bus between regions. A different hotel category is also available. We work within your budget.

DAY 1.- Airport reception in Mexico City and transfer to your hotel. If your flight arrives in the morning, the tour can begin with adjustments to the itinerary.

DAY 2.- CITY TOUR AND MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY. At 9:30 a.m., we will meet you at your hotel and begin our tour of Mexico City. We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace, where we will see Diego Rivera's murals. Afterward, we will enjoy a panoramic tour of the Historic Center, continuing along Paseo de la Reforma, and then visit the Museum of Anthropology and History. Considered one of the largest museums in the world (closed Mondays), it houses important artifacts from Aztec, Toltec, and other cultures. Visit Xochimilco, where the Mexica built chinampas (floating gardens) to produce food. Enjoy a boat ride, lunch, and return to the hotel. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 3.- TEOTIHUACAN and BASILICA OF GUADALUPE. At 9:30 a.m., we will meet you at your hotel and depart for Teotihuacan. We will make a brief stop at a craft center (30 minutes) for an explanation of the uses of obsidian and maguey. We begin our visit to the fantastic archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, considered in its time the largest city in Mesoamerica. We will see the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, the Temple of Quetzal Papalotl, the feathered snails, the Citadel, and the Avenue of the Dead. Lunch is included at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe, a pilgrimage center for the Mexican people. Return to the hotel.

DAY 4.- TONANZINTLA, CHOLULA, AND PUEBLA. At 9:30 a.m., we will pick you up at your hotel and depart for Santa María Tonanzintla to visit its magnificent Baroque church, where iconography and imagination were brought to life by the hands of indigenous artists. We continue to Cholula to visit this archaeological zone of the Toltec culture. Transfer to Puebla. Lunch is included at the Villa Rosa Restaurant or similar. Afterward, we will visit the Historic Center, the Cathedral, the Plaza de Armas, and the Chapel of the Rosary. Continue to the city of Oaxaca.

DAY 5.- CITY TOUR. Half-day tour: At 9:00 AM, we begin this interesting visit to the city of Oaxaca, known as the Green Antequera, to see its magnificent 16th and 18th-century architecture. We will visit the Benito Juárez Market, where every day people from surrounding communities come to sell their various agricultural products and handicrafts, the central park, the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Regional Museum exhibiting the treasures of Monte Albán, and the Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán. Oaxacan lunch is included. Return to the hotel.

DAY 6.- TOUR TO MONTE ALBÁN AND INDIGENOUS VILLAGES: Arrazola, Cuilapan, Zaachila, Coyotepec. Morning at 8:00 AM. Departure for Monte Albán (White Mountain), majestic capital of the Zapotec culture, a monumental archaeological site where the largest treasure in Mesoamerica was found and is exhibited in the regional museum. We will see the ball court, the observatory, the Patio of the Dancers, the Great Plaza, and the site museum, admiring beautiful stelae and reliefs of rulers and gods with hieroglyphic inscriptions. We continue with visits to Arrazola to see the alebrije workshops, and Cuilapan de Guerrero where we will see the former Dominican convent. Lunch is included, and we continue to San Bartolo Coyotepec where we will visit families to see the making of the famous black pottery. Return to Oaxaca.

DAY 7.- TOUR TO EL TULE, MITLA, AND HIERVE EL AGUA: At 8:00 AM. Departure for Santa María el Tule to see the tree considered the widest in the world, with its fantastical shapes. Visit to Teotitlán del Valle to see the beautiful wool textiles. Continue to Mitla, where we admire the rich geometric ornamentation of its facades and architecture, its tombs, the buildings of the Church group, and the columns. Visit the artisan market. Continue to Hierve el Agua to see this natural wonder: natural hot springs and petrified waterfalls amidst the imposing landscape. Lunch included. Continue to Tehuantepec. Overnight stay; dinner not included.

DAY 8.- This day at 6:00 AM. We depart for Chiapa de Corzo, at the dock we take a motorboat and begin the tour through the Sumidero Canyon to appreciate this natural wonder, seeing species of birds, crocodiles, monkeys and others, visit Chiapa de Corzo, the colonial fountain and the church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, lunch included in a typical restaurant and return to San Cristóbal de las Casas.

DAY 9.- At 9:00 AM, we begin our visit to the indigenous market of San Cristóbal, where people from the surrounding communities come daily to sell their products. We will visit the Church of Santo Domingo, the city's historic center, and its most important buildings, where we will learn about amber. We will then continue to the communities of Chamula and Zinacantán to observe the customs and way of life of the modern Maya. Lunch is included at the home of a Zinacantán family to learn more about their traditions. We will return to San Cristóbal, and the rest of the afternoon is free for personal activities. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 10.- Departure at 6:00 AM To the picturesque city of Ocosingo, with breakfast included en route, and a visit to the monumental archaeological site of Toniná, a place of duality and the underworld. We will see stelae and lintels, as well as bas-reliefs, sculptures, and stucco work, and enjoy a panoramic view of the landscape. We will then continue to the Agua Azul waterfalls, with the possibility of swimming if time permits. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Arrival in Palenque and overnight stay at the hotel. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 11.- At 6:00 a.m., departure for the Lacandon Jungle, with breakfast included en route. We will visit the archaeological site of Bonampak to admire the mural paintings, the most important pictorial work of the Mayan world. We continue to Frontera Corozal, where we board a motorboat that will take us along the Usumacinta River to the archaeological site of Yaxchilan, located in the heart of the Chiapas jungle. It boasts remarkable architecture, with magnificent stelae, lintels, bas-reliefs, stucco sculptures, the great plaza, the small acropolis, and more. We return to Frontera Corozal for lunch at a local restaurant (included) before returning to Palenque.

DAY 12.- After breakfast at 8:00 AM, we depart for the Palenque archaeological site to visit one of the largest Mayan cities in the world. Today, 1,665 buildings remain, still covered by the jungle. We will see the Tomb of the Red Queen, the Temple of the Inscriptions, the Palace, the Ball Court, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Foliated Cross, the Temple of the Cross, and others, adorned with magnificent stucco work. We will also visit the site museum. Lunch is included, and we will continue to the city of Campeche. Check into the hotel, and afterward, we will tour the city center to see the points of interest, its architecture, and learn about its history. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 13.- At 8:00 AM. Departure to visit Becal, a Mayan village, to see hat making and the local way of life. Visit to Uxmal, where we will see the Pyramid of the Magician, the Quadrangle of the Nuns, the Ball Court, the Temple of the Turtles, the Temple of the Birds, the Palace, and other buildings. Visit to Habah, where we will see the temple adorned with large masks of Chac, the rain god. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Visit to a chocolate factory and continue to Mérida. Check-in at the hotel, followed by a visit to the historic center. Dinner is on your own.

DAY 14.- After breakfast, departure for the Mayan village of Pisté to visit the spectacular site of Chichen Itza, famous for the equinox phenomenon. We will visit the Temple of Kukulkan, the Temple of the Warriors, the Temple of the Jaguars, the Temple of Venus, the Sacred Cenote, the Ball Court, and Old Chichen with its astronomical observatory and buildings in the Classic style. Regional buffet lunch included, then continue to Cancun or Playa del Carmen. The rest of the day is free for beach relaxation.

DAY 15.- After breakfast, we'll travel to Puerto Juarez to board a motorboat to Isla Mujeres. We'll spend the entire day exploring the island, relaxing on the beach, and enjoying a delicious lunch of grilled fish and seafood. After lunch, we'll return to the hotel. The rest of the day is free, and overnight stay is also included.
